We make sure our staff are constantly supported to continually develop and learn whether they be new graduates or experienced practitioners. We have a weekly team meeting where we discuss cases and use the time to practice and share knowledge and techniques. We support all our staff by making the senior practitioners available to see patients along with other staff to make sure the patient is getting the best of everyone’s experience and the practitioner is learning and benefiting from senior colleague’s experience.
We provide clinical placements for physiotherapy students from Glasgow Caledonian University who come to us for 5-week periods to complete their Musculo-skeletal clinical education.
One of our Clinical Directors, Simeon, has extensive experience in osteopathic education, having taught in the UK and overseas at an undergraduate and post graduate level. He has a wealth of experience supervising undergraduates in a clinical setting and often supports placement students who attend our clinic as part of their physiotherapy studies. With these skills he can develop meaningful mentoring support and learning opportunities for osteopaths of any experience who are looking to evolve as clinicians.
We offer new staff a supported three-month orientation and introductory period when they first come to work with us, to ensure they are familiar with all our processes and have lots of time to shadow other professionals and extra time to spend with their own patients. We regularly meet with staff to set goals and give constructive feedback for their learning and development.
We are committed to CPD and pay 50% of our staff members educational courses that are of benefit to their patients and the clinics.
